WABASH PLAIN DEALER
Vergie Bolen, 75, Shangri-La Nursing Home, LaFontaine, formerly of Wabash, died at 2:20 p.m. Friday in the Wabash County Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born June 1, 1910 in Van Lear, Ky. to Ancil and Catherine Boyd. She married John Bolen. He died March 11, 1985. Surviving are two sons, Joe Bolen, Wabash; Granville Bolen Zanesville, Ohio; five daughters, Mrs. Don (Violet) Emrick, R.R. 5 Wabash; Mrs. Bertha Snell, Urbana; Mrs. Ruby Bradford, Norwich, Ohio; Mrs. Lester (Barbara) Templin, R.R. 3 Wabash; Mrs. Edward (Janice) Ivins, Amarillo, Texas; 15 grandchildren, and 12 greatchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, one brother and four sisters. She was a member Church of Christ on Wabash Street. Private family graveside services will be held at Falls Cemetery at 2 p.m. Sunday. Evangelist Robert Monroe will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials are to be made to Wabash Church of Christ on North Wabash Street. Pallbearers were Tommy Simpson, Mike Snell, John Bolen, Gary Bolen, Brad Copp and Ed Wenger. Eddingfield Mortuary handled arrangements.
